A Man of Honour, BBC/AETN
In New York’s Little Italy they say you have a choice. You either become a gangster or a priest.
This is the story of the remarkable Louis Gigante - priest, politician, property developer and brother of a convicted Mafia boss.
In the 1970s Father Gigante became the New York Archdiocese's Master Builder, building and rehabilitating housing,
fighting to improve the conditions of a forgotten community in the South Bronx only to be forgotten himself when promotions in the church were being handed out.
This is also a story, a celebration of two neighbourhoods bound by religion, cultural values and connections through one remarkable man.
